Meet your friendly Wilderness Scotland guides at Inverness airport. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may wish to visit Culloden Battlefield, and its richly researched and engaging visitor centre. Learn about one of the most harrowing battles in Scottish history and walk across the rough moor where the Jacobites and the Government fought in 1746. Transfer to the spectacular Rothes Glen, a striking baronial-style castle with a tasting room, whisky vault and in-house, award-winning chef. This will be your base for the next few days, so settle in and enjoy a delicious dinner in this stunning Highland setting.

Day 2 - Monday 20th May - Hiking and Yoga

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore the local area. There are numerous options for hikes, including sections of the Speyside Way. Your guides will discuss with the group and decide on the best option depending on how much you’re looking to do today. Return to the comfort of your private castle and enjoy lunch before a relaxing afternoon of yoga with a local instructor. You may wish to spend some time exploring the grounds before settling in for the evening.

Day 3 - Tuesday 21st May - Tour of Glenlivet Distillery

Discover how they became the original Speyside Single Malt Whisky. Learn and explore how they make their signature whisky with an immersive visual experience followed by a walk through the distillery. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste the Glenlivet 12 year old, 15 year old and a Distillery Exclusive edition. Day 4 - Wednesday 22nd May - Hiking the Smugglers Trail

After a relaxing breakfast, head out with your expert guides to Glenlivet Estate to hike the Smugglers Trail. The landscape here was once a battleground for illicit distillers, and as you venture deep into the glen, you’ll discover its secrets hidden in the highs and lows of the land. As you walk, keep an eye out for wildlife. Red deer, the stags often adorned in impressive antlers, can often be seen in the higher reaches of the moor, as well as roe deer and mountain hare. Enjoy a picnic lunch listening out for the chatter of grouse and the melancholy, bubbling call of the curlew. Return to Rothes Glen for another relaxing evening and scrumptious dinner.

An experienced Cooper will take you on a tour, where you can watch first-hand the Coopers at work. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxed dram or warm drink in the cafe, before transferring back to Rothes Glen for a delicious dinner in the flickering glow of candlelight. A special treat lies in store for you tonight with a visit from some local musicians, the perfect way to end your escape to the Scottish Highlands.
