Day 1 - Wednesday 1^st May - Welcome to Dublin

Arriving in Ireland today, a private transfer will pick you up from the ferry port and whisk you into the city to your boutique hotel in the city centre. Check-in is not until later this afternoon but you are welcome to drop your bags, grab a coffee, or have a bite to eat.

Head out in the afternoon to enjoy a walking tour with a local private guide through this vibrant capital city, with its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern. See the Georgian style Merrion Square, lush St. Stephen’s Green and Fitzwilliam Square, as well as O’Connell Street, the site of the ‘1916 Uprising’ that led to Ireland’s independence in 1922. Your guide is also a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by.

Day 2 - Thursday 2^nd May - Train to Killarney and Ross Castle

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to Dublin Heuston Train Station where you will board your train to Killarney. Your private guide for the next week will meet you at the train station here, and after an introductory lunch you will head together to Killarney National Park, the jewel in the crown of the Kingdom of County Kerry. Enjoy an engaging hike as you visit Ross Castle and hear about the legend of O’Donoghue and his snow-white horse. Check in to your charming accommodation this evening, and head into town with your guide for a delicious, locally sourced dinner.

Day 3 - Friday 3^rd May - Killarney National Park

Killarney National Park is the most famous of Ireland’s national parks – and with good reason, as it is flourishing with breathtaking mountains, lakes and waterfalls. Historic manor houses and abbeys make for an interesting visit but Killarney is best explored via a beautiful forested and mountain hikes and a private boat trip across the lake. After your morning boat tour, hike along a stunningly beautiful portion of the Kerry Way, Ireland’s most famous long-distance trail. The route passes through fields of grazing cattle and dense canopies of trees opening up to views of the lake, before descending to the foot of the snaking Torc Waterfall.

Day 4 - Saturday 4^th May - Dingle Sea Safari

Your morning starts with a drive along the coast up to the Dingle Peninsula, renowned as a cultural and adventure paradise among Irish locals. Spend the day with a charismatic wildlife expert boating around Slea Head and the Blasket Islands, an abandoned archipelago famous for rich literary heritage and unique cultural insight about life in Ireland’s westernmost fringes. Spot seabirds and marine wildlife such as whales, seals and porpoises and dolphins. We’ll be sure to have plenty of time for you to take a stroll into Dingle town where you can explore its many galleries, boutiques shops, and its famous ice cream.

Day 5 - Sunday 5^th May - The Cliffs of Moher

Leaving the Kingdom of Kerry behind this morning, you will be introduced to the neighbouring County Clare with its most iconic landmark. Most visitors to the jaw-dropping Cliffs of Moher only see one short section. But the best way to fully experience the magic of the Cliffs of Moher on foot is to hike away from the crowds along its rugged cliff-side path. Reaching the Napoleonic tower at Hag’s Head, the emerald fields roll out to one side, and cobalt-blue waters swirl at the base of the cliffs to the west. Falling some 700 feet and winding in and out, the Cliffs of Moher merit their celebrity status. Your accommodation for the next few nights is based in the buzzing village of Doolin, famous for its Irish traditional music sessions in its charming local pubs.

Day 6 - Monday 6^th May - The Burren National Park

The Burren’s rocky alien landscape is said to be the inspiration for Middle Earth in JRR Tolkien’s world-famous Lord of the Rings trilogy – and today as you explore this other-worldly region, it’s easy to see why! As soon as you set foot on today’s trail, you’ll be immersed in another world where time appears to stand still. The unusual exposed limestone geology of the region was formed millions of years ago when Clare was on the sea floor, leaving behind an impressive lunar landscape. The Burren is riddled with caves and caverns, learn about the rich geological history as you hike. Spend the afternoon following your hike exploring its many cultural gems, from lunch at a locally sourced perfumery to Neolithic stone monuments.

Day 7 - Tuesday 7^th May - Cycling The Aran Islands

Today you will get to fully immerse into the culture of Inis Mór – its history goes back millennia and today Gaelic is still the daily spoken language of the inhabitants. Arriving by ferry into the port of the island, pick up your bikes and being your exploration of the breathtaking scenery, mediaeval castles, cliffs and prehistoric forts which dot the sprawling island. Your afternoon is open to a wealth of opportunities that the island presents, from a short hike up to a cliffside stone fort to a visit to a goat farm, before catching the ferry back to the mainland in the evening. Your guide will join you for your final night together in the village.

Day 8 - Wednesday 8^th May - Dromoland Castle

Taking your time this morning to say farewell to the coast, your guide will transfer you after breakfast to your capstone accommodation: Dromoland Castle. The castle hotel’s 500 acre estate is abound with walking trails, a world-class golf course, and a relaxing spa to work any knots out from the week of adventure gone by.
