Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 10th May - Arrive in Inverness

Arrive in Inverness today and settle into your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time you may want to take a stroll along the river before dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 2 - Saturday 11th May - Explore Inverness

Spend the day getting acclimatising to your new time zone and spend the ay exploring Inverness.  If you’re interested in local history, visit the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery or head to Inverness Castle for great views of the city and surrounding hills. Then, explore the bustling Victorian Market, where you can browse local shops and pick up unique crafts or souvenirs. You may also want to take a bus or taxi to Culloden Battlefield to delve into Scotland’s history—walking the grounds and visiting the interactive exhibits at the visitor centre. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Scottish fare, before relaxing and settling in for the night.

Day 3 - Sunday 12th May - Journey to Lewis & the Callanish Stones

This morning, Dave will pick you up for a scenic drive to Ullapool, where you’ll board the ferry to the Isle of Lewis. Enjoy sweeping sea views and look out for wildlife as you cross the Minch, the strait that separates the mainland from the Outer Hebrides. Once on Lewis head south before stopping to visit the Callanish Standing Stones, an ancient stone circle, older than Stonehenge dating back over 5,000 years. Then, head to the Blackhouse Village to explore traditional thatched cottages and learn about island life from centuries past. After a day full of history and exploration, you’ll cross into Harris where you will wind down in your charming accommodation.

Day 4 - Monday 13th May - Highlights of Harris

Today begins with a visit to the stunning Luskentyre Beach, frequently voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You’ll take to the white sands admiring the crystal-clear waters or choose to hike up the small but spectacular Toe Head for incredible views. Later this afternoon you’ll head to Tarbert to tour the Harris Distillery, sampling its renowned gin and whisky while learning about the island’s distilling traditions. In the afternoon, visit the local tweed weavers, where you’ll watch artisans create the famous Harris Tweed using time-honoured methods. After a day filled with natural beauty and local craftsmanship, you’ll cosy up for an overnight stay on Harris.

Day 5 - Tuesday 14th May - From Harris to Skye

Start your day with a ferry ride from Harris to the Isle of Skye, where you’ll venture into the island’s rugged beauty. Your first stop is the Quiraing, a dramatic landscape of jagged cliffs and rolling hills—perfect for a short hike and photo opportunities. From there, travel to Portree the small capital of Skye. Here you can wander the quirky shops and galleries and walk along the harbour before enjoying dinner with views of the bay.

Day 6 - Wednesday 15th May - Hiking in Glencoe

Take the small white ferry from Skye to Mallaig. Here stop you might want to stop for a wander at Silver Sands Beach or visit the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. Then head to Glencoe, Scotland’s most famous glen its tragic history only eclipsed by its wild and dramatic beauty. Enjoy a short hike though the following the river or to a lochan in the grounds of your hotel. Spend the evening at Glencoe House, where you can unwind in a luxurious suite and savour a final dinner in the Highlands.

Day 7 - Thursday 16th May -

Start your final day with a hearty breakfast at Glencoe House. Soen the morning at the Glencoe Center and take a short walk to step back in time at the turf and creel house. Later, Dave will drive you to the train station, where you’ll say goodbyes and start your return journey home.
