Day 1 - Meet in Edinburgh, and head West

Meet your friendly Wilderness Scotland guide this morning, and depart for Glencoe on the West Coast. Stop en route and enjoy a visit to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument to learn more about about the history of the area. Continue towards Glencoe, perhaps stopping for a short walk on the way, or pop into Glencoe’s visitor centre when you arrive and learn all about the dark and haunting history of the iconic valley. Finish up at your luxury accommodation, Inverlochy Castle, and settle in for a relaxing evening.

Day 2 - Jacobite Steam Train

After a relaxed breakfast, head out to hop aboard the Jacobite Steam Train. Warm drink in hand, sit back and relax as it chugs through some of the most stunning scenery of the Highlands. Cross the Glenfinnan viaduct (a location made famous in the Harry Potter films) which overlooks Loch Shiel and the Jacobite monument. Arrive in Mallaig, where your guide will meet you off the train and transfer you back into the brooding melancholy of Glencoe. Stop on the way back to view the Glen Finnan viaduct from the ground to give a unique perspective on this famous landmark. Carved out centuries ago by glaciers and volcanic eruptions, the famous Glen seems to push against reality into the folds of a fairytale. Enjoy a gentle walk to the dramatic and beautiful Nevis Gorge that leads to the awesome Steall Falls.

The seal colony here is friendly and curious, often slipping beneath your boat only to pop up on the other side to peer at you with their big dark eyes. This afternoon ferry across to the Isle of Skye after arriving on the island you may wish to head out for a short walk with your guide if time allows, before settling in for a relaxing evening and scrumptious meal.
