After lunch you may wish to split up, with those interested in the detailed past of the country meeting with a specialist guide to take you through the halls of the National Museum of Scotland, using the varied and unique exhibits to illustrate Scotlands tumultuous past. Those members of the party who prefer to completely immerse themselves in their history will adventure into the past as they delve into the depths of Edinburgh Dungeons to discover the dark tales of Edinburgh’s past.

Then a special family evening activity as you gather in a celebrated Edinburgh cookery school to prepare your own dinner under the expert tutelage of a local chef. Sit down together to enjoy a delicious meal with an emphasis on Scottish specialities, which will taste even better because it was created by your own fair hands.

For the rest of the party, if the tides and winds are in your favour then enjoy a thrilling ride along the beach at St Andrews as you try Land Yachting. Alternatively you will stop in Dundee to test yourselves against the floating inflatable assault course. At the end of the day when you all meet back up you will have great tales to share.

Day 6 - Tuesday 2nd July - Following in the footsteps of your ancestors

Follow in the footsteps of your ancestors today as you visit the charming old town of Dysart, now a suburb of Kirkcaldy, to see where your forefathers lived and worked. Explore the harbour and whimsically named streets before heading along the coast to hike part of the Fife Coastal Trail.

This will lead you to East Wemyss, home to the Wemyss caves which house the highest concentration of Pictish carvings to be found anywhere in Scotland. Help keep this area beautiful and preserved with a local beach clean this afternoon, before heading further around the coastline. Make sure you don’t miss the world-famous ‘fish & chips’ in these charming fishing villages too! If there is time you may be able to fit in a wee axe-throwing session here too.
