Day by Day

Day 1 - Thursday 24th July - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport, you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to the Gleneagles hotel. There, you can put your feet up and relax, making the most of the on-site facilities.

Day 2 - Friday 25th July - A Day of Leisure

Today explore the world-renowned Gleneagles, a haven of luxury nestled in the heart of Perthshire. Spend the day indulging in its exceptional facilities, from a rejuvenating spa experience to a round of golf on one of its championship courses. For those seeking adventure, try your hand at falconry or clay pigeon shooting, guided by expert instructors. As the day unfolds, relax with a sumptuous afternoon tea or unwind in the tranquil surrounds of the estate, soaking in the sweeping views of the Scottish countryside. Gleneagles promises a perfect blend of elegance, activity, and relaxation.

Day 3 - Saturday 26th July - Atmospheric Glencoe

This morning, meet your expert guide, who will accompany you on the next leg of your journey to Scotland’s breathtaking west coast. As you travel through dramatic landscapes, you’ll pause in the iconic Glencoe, where towering peaks and deep glens tell tales of a storied past. Here, set out on a guided hike to immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of this legendary valley, with your guide sharing fascinating insights into its history and geology. After the hike, continue westward, arriving at your charming lochside accommodation in time to relax and savour the stunning views of Scotland’s wild landscapes.

Day 4 - Sunday 27th July - All Aboard!

Ready your wands this morning as you step aboard the Jacobite Steam Train for a magical journey to the coast in the train that featured in the Harry Potter films. Puff your way through glorious mountain scenes and over the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, hopefully with no flying cars though! On arrival at Mallaig you will have time for lunch and a wee explore before you head back along the coast a bit to Arisaig. Here you have miles of beautiful beaches to explore with your guide. See what unusual treasures you can discover before retiring to your hotel.

Day 5 - Monday 28th July - To the Heart of Scotland

Along the way, there’s the option to pause for a hike, immersing yourself in the park’s rich natural heritage. As you continue, watch for glimpses of red deer, golden eagles, or even the elusive capercaillie in this extraordinary wilderness.

Day 6 - Tuesday 29th July - Hit the Hills!

This morning, meet your expert guide and set off on an exhilarating 4×4 journey through the rugged beauty of the Highlands. Venture off the beaten track, navigating winding trails and hidden valleys as you uncover breathtaking viewpoints and remote corners of the Cairngorms that few get to see. Along the way, there’s plenty of time to pause, take in the scenery, and learn about the region’s unique history and wildlife. Return to Killiehuntly with a renewed sense of connection to the land, ready to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.

Day 7 - Wednesday 30th July - Picture Perfect Perthshire

Bid farewell to the Cairngorms this morning as you journey south towards Edinburgh. Weather and energy levels depending, pause in Perthshire for a hike at The Hermitage, where woodland trails lead you alongside tumbling waterfalls and towering Douglas firs. Afterward, continue to the picturesque village of Dunkeld, nestled on the banks of the River Tay. Here, take time to wander its charming streets, perhaps visiting the historic cathedral or sampling freshly baked treats at a local café. On arrival at your accommodation in Edinburgh, wave goodbye to your guide reflecting fondly on your time together and happy memories shared.

Day 8 - Thursday 31st July - Exploring Edinburgh

The rest of the day is yours to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 9 - Friday 1st August - A Day of Leisure

For a touch of history, visit Edinburgh Castle or Holyrood Palace, or take in sweeping views from Arthur’s Seat.
