Day by Day

Day 1 - Wednesday 3rd September - Arrival in London

Arrive at your Central London accommodation at your leisure, your guide will meet you at the hotel to assist you during the check-in process at 3 pm.

A trip briefing and welcome meal will give you the chance to get to know your fellow travellers ahead of an early night, ready for the adventures to begin tomorrow.

Day 2 - Thursday 4th September - Green Meadows and Rolling Hills

After breakfast, we’ll transfer across to the Cotswolds ahead of lunch and a short hike.

Spend the afternoon exploring a taking in the atmosphere in the honey-coloured, quaint villages nearby.

Day 3 - Friday 5th September - Exploring the Cotswolds

Spend the morning exploring a nearby castle nestled in the hills of the western Cotswolds and walk in the footsteps of some of history’s most notable characters in the castle’s beautiful gardens. Enjoy a 2-course lunch within the castle grounds and relax in the gardens afterwards. Later we’ll visit ‘the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, Bourton-on-the-Water.

Day 4 - Saturday 6th September - Woodchester Valley Vineyard

We’ll travel down the spine of the Cotswolds this morning on our way to visit Woodchester Valley Vineyard. En route, we’ll visit a Roman Villa that was rediscovered by the Victorians over 150 years ago before continuing to the family-owned vineyard creating award-winning English wines.

Day 5 - Sunday 7th September - Heading North

Today, after breakfast we’ll embark on our journey to the Lake District, a journey of roughly 4.5 hours. We’ll split the journey up with a stop at roughly halfway at one of the UK’s most complete historic estates, home to a Tudor Old Hall, Neo-Classical Mansion and 50 acres of landscaped gardens. Here you’ll also find a cafe where you’ll be able to refuel for the rest of your journey.

Day 6 - Monday 8th September - Keswick and Derwentwater

We’ll head across the Lake District to the market town of Keswick this morning, nestled under the peak of Skiddaw and the popular fell of Catbells we’ll stroll along the cobbled high street on our way to the shores of Derwentwater where we’ll board the launch and cruise to a landing at the other side of the lake. A short walk takes us to our afternoon tea stop at Lingholm Kitchen and Gardens, said to be Beatrix Potter’s inspiration for Mr McGregor’s Garden in the Tale of Peter Rabbit.

Day 7 - Tuesday 9th September - Welcome to Scotland

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll check out of our Lake District hotel and explore a local fell and series of waterfalls nestled in the woodland before embarking on our trip northwards into Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh. Enjoy some free time in the late afternoon ahead of dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8 - Wednesday 10th September - Exploring Edinburgh

After breakfast, we meet a local city guide for a walking tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is based around the Royal Mile, which runs from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. After a morning full of tall tales, history and legends, the afternoon is free for you to explore as you wish. You might visit the castle, The Royal Yacht Britannia, explore a museum, or enjoy a drink in one of Edinburgh’s many characterful pubs. This evening, we gather together and dine at a renowned Scottish restaurant adjacent to the famous Castle in the heart of Old Town district.

Day 9 - Thursday 11th September - Free day to explore Edinburgh

Begin your day with a relaxed exploration of Edinburgh’s vibrant streets, where hidden gems await around every corner. Take your time immersing yourself in the city’s rich culture and history, perhaps stumbling upon a quaint café or intriguing art gallery. Let the day unfold organically as you wander through Edinburgh’s charming neighborhoods, allowing serendipity to guide your adventures.

Day 10 - Friday 12th September - Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park

This morning, we leave the city and head north into the Scottish Highlands. We break the journey to visit the William Wallace monument, a landmark that tells the story of the patriot and martyr who became Scotland’s national hero (his story is told in the movie, Braveheart). We then continue onwards into the heart of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. In the afternoon we visit a small Highland whisky distillery, where we learn about uisage beatha “the water of life,” and maybe even sample a wee dram too. We then continue on to enjoy a leisurely check-in to our hotel.

Day 11 - Saturday 13th September - Hiking a famous Scottish hill - Conic Hill

We can’t come to Scotland not climb a hill, so we’ve chosen Conic Hill, a small summit (358m high) with an almighty view. It lies on the Highland Boundary Fault, and also forms part of the West Highland Way. A popular climb, it starts in the forest and then breaks out as you climb higher. The view across Loch Lomond from the summit is one of the best in Scotland. We return from the hill and now experience the beauty of Loch Lomond from a different perspective, as we enjoy a relaxed boat trip across the famous Loch to the island of Inchcailloch. We enjoy a short walk on the tiny Island, and experience something truly magical. Afterwards, we return to our hotel to celebrate our Scottish adventure.

Day 12 - Sunday 14th September - Scottish Departure - Explore Belfast

After breakfast, we transfer back to Glasgow / Edinburgh Airport (approx 90 mins), where the Scottish trip ends and fly to Ireland for the next leg of our adventure. With a history deeply influenced by industrialisation and sectarian tensions, Belfast has transformed into a vibrant and modern city, renowned for its culture, arts, and maritime heritage. We will spend the afternoon visiting the Titanic Centre, to learn about the history of shipbuilding in Belfast and the world’s most famous ocean liner.

Day 13 - Monday 15th September - Heading West to Sligo

Head west to Sligo. Meet an award winning seaweed author and forage the coastline learning about this Irish delicacy. Hike to Queen Maeve’s Cairn at the top of Knocknarea with breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean.

Day 14 - Tuesday 16th September - Galway

Explore the west coast gem of Galway city. Immerse yourself in this bohemian city where we go on a food tour to find the many culinary delights the city has to offer. Day 15 - Wednesday 17th September - Aran Islands

We start the day by taking a ferry to the rugged and picturesque Aran Islands. Hike across the island’s unique and stunning landscape of rocky fields, stone walls, and ancient ruins that create a sense of timelessness and natural beauty.

Day 16 - Thursday 18th September - The Burren, Country Clare

Embark on a morning hike through the Burren, a unique and ancient landscape of exposed limestone that stretches across County Clare. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the region’s fascinating geology and learn about its rich history, including the remains of ancient settlements and tombs. After the hike, take a visit to a local perfumery and indulge in a sensory experience of the fragrances of the region and the perfumes inspired by the landscape.

Day 17 - Friday 19th September - Dublin's Fair City

Transfer to Dublin.  Your guide will take you on a short walking tour to explore the vibrant culture, rich history, and lively atmosphere of Ireland’s capital city. Bid farewell to your guide this afternoon where you can relax at your hotel or wander through charming streets lined with colorful pubs, bustling markets, and historic architecture.
