Day by Day

Day 1 - Sunday 5th May - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at Edinburgh airport you will be met by your private transfer drivers and taken to your boutique hotel in the heart of the city.

Day 2 - Monday 6th May - The Catacombs of the Royal Mile

This morning you will head to the Royal Mile where you will enjoy a private tour of the catacombs of the city with a private guide – discover what life was like back in the 1500s and hear stories from days gone by.  The rest of the day is free to relax, explore or simply sit back and watch the world go by.  Tonight, you can dine out in one of the many wonderful restaurants the city has to offer before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 3 - Tuesday 7th May - Exploring Edinburgh

Your local city guide will collect you from your hotel this morning and you will head off to explore the city. From the well known landmarks to the secrets hidden in plain sight, discover the lesser known areas of the city and allow your guide to bring the place to life with stories and tales of life here. After a wonderful morning the rest of the day is free to relax, perhaps relax at the hotel or enjoy some retail therapy on the bustling Princes Street.

Day 4 - Wednesday 8th May - To the West Coast

Your main driver guides will collect you this morning and you will set off on the next part of your adventure. Your first stop will be at Stirling Castle, one of the most important castles in Scottish history. Explore the vaulted hallways and historic rooms as well as the beautiful gardens with your guides, hearing about the tales of Royalty that used to walk these halls. Continuing on, your journey will take you through Loch Lomond National Park where you can stop for a leg stretch before arriving at your hotel on the shores of the sea loch with beautiful views across the islands of the inner hebrides.

Day 5 - Thursday 9th May - The islands of the Inner Hebrides

Your private boat will be at your disposal today as you set off to explore the islands of the Inner Hebrides. From the soaring seabirds to the playful dolphins there is so much to see in these rich waters. See the world’s third largest whirlpool from the safety of the boat and perhaps enjoy some time ashore as you explore the area. A fantastic day for the whole family to enjoy.

Day 6 - Friday 10th May - Optional Activities

Today you can split into groups and head off for your own adventures. For the more adventurous there is the option to take the ferry to Kerrera and enjoy a circular walk of the island taking in the Hutcheson Monument and a well deserved stop at the local tea rooms, or perhaps head out for a day sea kayaking around the coastline looking out for seals, dolphins and other local wildlife. For the others, you can head down to Kilmartin Glen to discover the neolithic ruins and the history of ancient Scotland in this fantastic part of the country. Meeting back at your hotel later on, you can swap stories and enjoy a final night on the west coast.

Day 7 - Saturday 11th May - Transfer to the Cairngorms

It’s time to leave the west coast behind and head to your last destination on your Scottish Adventures. Travelling up the coastline you will stop off to explore the mystical valley of Glencoe, with its jagged mountains rising up from the valley floor. With the legends of battles and magic sown into the fabric of the land here, your guides will regale you with stories of days gone by as you explore some of the wonderful places here. Continuing on, you will arrive at your exclusive use Farmhouse in the heart of Glenfeshie with views across the Cairngorms Plateau from your doorstep.

Day 8 - Sunday 12th May - Pony Picnic

Take time together as a family today to slow down, relax and explore the hidden nooks of the Cairngorms. With the trusty ponies, their keepers and your guides, you can truly immerse yourself in the landscape and enjoy some delicious food in the heart of the Cairngorms. After a wonderful day out as a family, you will return to the farmhouse for dinner and perhaps an evening under the stars around the firepit.

Day 9 - Monday 13th May - Optional Activities

For your final day in the Cairngorms, you will head off to enjoy various activities in smaller groups. You may wish to head to Aviemore and have an exhilarating morning whizzing along the local mountain bike trails and feeling the wind in your hair. Or you may wish to climb one of the highest mountains in the National Park and feel totally on top of the world as you survey the valley floor beneath you. For the less adventurous, you could enjoy a day out at the local beach – perhaps taking to the water in a canoe or pedalo – or head to the Highland Folk Museum and explore the school room and the old fashioned sweet shop here! Whatever you decide, tonight you will indulge in a celebration dinner and you raise a glass to your Scottish Adventure.
