A wonderful eight day adventure exploring the beating heart of London as well as getting off the beaten track to find the hidden gems only known to the locals. Sample food from around the world with a food expert at one of the best markets in the city, enjoy private tours of some of the iconic buildings and see London from a different perspective as you drift along the Thames and glide through the air on the London Eye. With your private guide at your side, you can immerse yourselves in the city and will leave longing to return.
On arrival into Heathrow you will be met by the VIP team and seamlessly whisked through security and immigration to your waiting cars to transfer you into the heart of the city and your Grade II listed hotel right opposite Kensington Palace. The rest of the day is free to head out to enjoy a walk through the gardens, take a tour of the palace or simply relax at the hotel after your long journey. Tonight you will indulge in a wonderful welcome dinner where you will make a toast to the adventure that awaits you.

You will be met at your hotel this morning by your local city guide and will set off to explore the city. Starting off with passing Buckingham Palace where you may see the changing of the guard, the famous ceremony where the Old Guard are replaced by the New Guard marching in from the Barracks accompanied by music. After a fantastic display of pomp and ceremony, it is just a short walk to the houses of parliament and the famous bell of Big Ben, sitting proudly on the bank of the River Thames. This afternoon, you will head across the Westminster bridge and take a ‘Behind the Glass’ tour of the Churchill War Rooms with an expert guide – seeing where Winston sat making some of the biggest decisions of the war. Your day will end with a private pod on the London Eye where you can enjoy some champagne while watching the sun set over the London skyline.

Meet an acclaimed cookery author this morning as you set out to explore Borough Market and wander through the many stalls sampling some of the local delicacies. Hear stories about the area and produce as she takes your taste buds on a tour of London and all of the different foods that make up this incredible city. Feeling full, you can have a free afternoon where you could venture north to explore Spitalfields and Brick Lane or perhaps jump on the tube to the heart of Mayfair and indulge in some retail therapy. A unique experience awaits you tonight as you head to the Tower of London for a private viewing of the Crown Jewels. Hear about the importance of these jewels to the British Monarchy and the role the Tower plays in protecting them while taking time to view the collection with your own personal guide.

Head out of the city today to Windsor, the home of one of the most beloved homes of the late Queen. Your expert guide will meet you at the station and will bring the castle to life with tales of the late Queen and over 1,000 years of history that has passed through these ancient halls. Then spend time exploring the beautiful castle and St George’s Chapel where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married. You can spend some time exploring the pretty town of Windsor and take a wander along the river before returning to the city by train – watching the scenery unfold as you head back to your hotel.

One of the most famous of all playwrights is William Shakespeare, who wrote 39 plays and 154 sonnets in the 16th and 17th century including famous works such as Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream. Take a tour today of the replica of the Globe theatre that was built by Shakespeare and his fellow players in 1599 on the banks of the Thames. Head to parts of the theatre that are not normally accessible to the public and listen to the history of this incredible building. From here, you will board your private boat and spend an enjoyable afternoon gliding along the river – seeing all of the famous landmarks from a slightly different perspective before retiring to your hotel in the early evening.

It is an early start today as you spend the day exploring the amazing Tudor Court and Gardens. With your private expert guide, take a tour of the Palace before the doors are opened to the public. Learn more about two previous King’s called Charles, view the famous Abraham tapestries which are the most valuable items in the Royal collection after the Crown Jewels and hear stories from Royal Beasts to Coronation Chicken as your guide weaves the tales around the palace while you explore. After a truly immersive experience, the rest of the day will be spent enjoying the gardens, perhaps taking a walk to see the Diana Fountain or simply enjoying the green space after a couple of days in the city.

After a couple of busy days, it is a more leisurely start to the morning with a few free hours to rest, relax or enjoy a short turn around the block should you wish. Once you are all ready, your first stop today will be following in the footsteps of one of the biggest music influencers in the world – The Beatles. With an expert guide, you will cross the iconic zebra crossing, visit Abbey Road and see where some of the music videos were shot. After being immersed in Beatlemania for the past couple of hours, it is time for some tranquil downtime in the cool, calm and impressive Westminster Abbey. Sitting in the Nave, with the light shimmering through the stained glass windows, take a moment to just be in the moment where Royalty were married and buried and British history is etched into the towering stone pillars and smooth flagstone floors. Your final stop today is for afternoon tea where you will be transported to a secret garden in Yorkshire with every bite – a truly decadent experience.

For your final day in the city there is a chance to step back in time with a private tour at the timeless V&A. For your final night in the ‘Big Smoke’ you will have the best seats in the house to one of the colourful West End Shows before enjoying one final dinner and raising a glass to your London adventure
