Day by Day

Day 1 - Saturday 16th May - Welcome to Scotland

You will meet your experienced guide in Edinburgh this morning, who will also act as your driver for your time in the Scottish countryside. Together, you will head out of the city, first stopping at a truly significant historical site, Stirling Castle. Explore the grounds of this stunning location overlooking the city as it stands proud as symbol of Scotland’s heritage and history.

From here, head for Scotland’s first designated National Park, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs. Settle into your accommodation on the shores of the loch and take some time to relax ahead of tomorrows adventures.

Day 2 - Sunday 17th May - Walking in the National Park

After a hearty Scottish breakfast, meet your guide and head out for a day of walking in the National Park. There are plenty of great walks on offer all with their own reward at the end. Some options include:

  • Conic Hill – this sharp uphill walk will offer you some of the best views out over Loch Lomond from it’s peak. Roughly 4km (taking approx 3 hours) this is a testing short walk.
  • Cashel Forest – there are a few option here – but maybe the best is the Aspen path, a short 4.2km walk through natural forest that will offer great views of the loch.
  • Leannach Forest Circuit – this walk is slightly further a field, but will reward you with views over the core of the Trossachs, and views back to Ben A’an

There are plenty of other walking options in the area, just chat with your guide about what you are feeling up to.

Day 3 - Monday 18th May - A Domestic Masterpiece

Today you visit an architectural masterpiece, designed by Charles and Margaret Mackintosh, it offers uniquely designed buildings and interior. Learn about the family that called this location home and make sure to visit the amazing roof top terrace, offering stunning views out to the Firth of Clyde, towards the isle of Arran. Upon finishing up here, you could opt for a walk out towards Glenarn gardens, offering great views and a walk through a woodland nature reserve.

This evening settle into a local tavern for a cosy drink as a storyteller weaves and winds their way through the history and legend of the area. This fun and engaging experience will take you on a journey of discovery as you learn about both true and fictitious legends.

Day 4 - Tuesday 19th May - A Historic Scottish Family Home

Today you bid beautiful Glencoe farewell, and head east towards the charming town of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire. On route, stop off at the near by Blair Atholl Castle, home to the Atholl family for seven centuries. Spend time exploring the castle and grounds, learning about the family history.

From here make the short journey into Pitlochry and your accommodation of the next few days. Settle in and relax at your hotel, or head into the charming town and begin your explorations.

Day 5 - Wednesday 20th May - Morning Private 4x4 Safari & Afternoon Explorations

This morning you head out on a fun private Land rover safari, exploring private estate tracks to see what traditional gillies and estate managers drive every day. Keep your eyes open for the local wildlife, Red Deer, Mountain Hares and Eagles that are all to be found here.

This afternoon continue your local explorations with your guide, finishing the day with low level walk in the area. Chat to your guide about the various options in the area to be sure it matches your desires.

Day 6 - Thursday 21st May - Explore on Foot and A British Delicacy

Today is all about exploring the local area on foot. Head out with your guide and enjoy stunning scenery as you make your way through woodlands, next to glistening rivers, and towards the edge of lochs. Take some time to truly absorb the beauty of this location.

Upon return from your hike, it’s time to sample one of the great British delicacies, Afternoon Tea. Settle into your own private pod, overlooking the countryside as you enjoy beautifully crafted finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, before sampling delicious pastries. Wash it all down with a glass of Champagne as you toasted your time exploring Scotland.

Tonight, your guide will bid you farewell as they depart, leaving you full of wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 7 - Friday 22nd May - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you south to Edinburgh and your city centre accommodation.
