Day by Day

Day 1 - Monday 15th July - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Tuesday 16th July - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh, as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish. You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 3 - Wednesday 17th July - Journey north to the Cairngorm National Park

After breakfast, commence your journey to the Cairngorms National Park. Embrace the scenic drive, absorbing the breathtaking landscapes en route. Meet your guide for a picturesque walk amidst the stunning countryside. Later, travel on to your accommodation to settle in and relax before your adventures ahead in the Cairngorms.

Day 4 - Thursday 18th July - A Day of Cycling

Take to two wheels today on a mountain bike ride through the pine forests of Rothiemurchus. Discover the shimmering lochs and mountain vistas as you pedal your way along the trails. The exact route for today will be discussed with your guide to offer options for a more challenging or leisurely cycle depending on the groups preferences.

Day 5 - Friday 19th July - Hiking and Woodwork

Today, enjoy a short walk around the secluded forests and trails of the Uath Lochans with great views of the surrounding mountains and native pine forests. Later in the day, head to a unique outdoor workshop in a woodland glade, where you will meet a local craftsman. Learn how he creates his beautiful unique carved pieces out of local Scottish wood and you can then have a shot at creating a special wee souvenir yourself.

Day 6 - Saturday 20th July - Gorge Walking

It is time to take to the water today to experience a morning exploring a secluded gorge. Gorge walking is a mix of rock scrambling and white water fun with plunge pools and natural slides. You will meet your local expert this morning and spend time working your way up the river, jumping off ledges, swimming down streams and having lots of fun in the water. After drying off enjoy lunch, before spending the afternoon discovering the local highland history at an open air museum.

Day 7 - Sunday 21st July - Travel to Perthshire

Leave the Cairngorms behind as you journey south to the rollin hills of Perthshire. Make your way to the Glenturret Distillery, which prides itself on being the oldest working distillery in Scotland. Enjoy a fascinating tour and tasting here before a unique experience in the michelin starred Lalique Restaurant. The rest of the days’ activities are optional, venture out on a short hike or simply travel to your accommodation to rest and relax.

Day 8 - Monday 22nd July - Hike the Local Trails

Today have the choice of several excellent hikes, your guide will make route suggestions based on your interests, ability and weather conditions.

Day 9 - Tuesday 23rd July - Canoe Adventures

Today, take to the waters by canoe to explore your wonderful surroundings. Your expert guide will teach you the basics for a fun and enchanting loch journey. Paddle the shoreline and stop off to enjoy a picnic lunch at the waters edge. Returning to dry land your guide will be awaiting your arrival. Have the choice of a afternoon hike or perhaps you would like to simply relax and make the most time at your hotel.

Day 10 - Wednesday 24th July - Natural Delights

Today spend time exploring the grounds nearby, foraging for the freshest produce you can find. Hear about the innovative ways the tasty treats are used in dishes on a daily basis. After an enjoyable morning, sample the flavours of your endeavours and tuck into a sensational lunch. It is then time to stroll through the luscious greenery of the impressive formal gardens of Drummond Castle. Dating back to the 17th century, the gardens have seen many changes over the years, have time here as you wish before celebrating the final night of your trip.

Day 11 - Thursday 25th July - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
