This family adventure will see you finding the very best fun that Scotland has to offer and enjoying it all together. Explore historic streets, ancient battlegrounds and castles and hike in the beautiful countryside with experienced guides to share all the local favourites with you. In between mini adventures, your luxurious hotel surroundings will ensure that you feel completely relaxed and pampered by the end of your trip. Test out the highlights of traditional Scottish pursuits and create special family memories which will last a lifetime.

Day by Day

Day 1 - Tuesday 24th June - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by private drivers who will transfer you to your iconic city centre hotel. The rest of the day is free, so depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Wednesday 25th June - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city on the ‘Royal Mile’ and explore the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past.

This afternoon you will head to the quiet waters of Leith to enjoy a decadent and unique afternoon tea aboard Fingal – a newly refurbished working ship which is also a sister to the nearby Royal Yacht Britannia.

Day 3 - Thursday 26th June - Meet Your Guides, Then Tartan & Bagpipes!

This morning you will be met by your private Guides, who will act as your hosts for the next few days as they share all the local gems and insights with you.

Dive right in and immerse yourself in the heritage and history of Scottish Culture as you learn the rich history of Highland dress and tartan in Scotland this morning. Take a journey with an expert kiltmaker and discover the intricate process of creating a high-quality hand-sewn kilt, functional and fashionable.

After your fascinating workshop, set out to hike to the top or Arthur’s seat together with your guides, taking in the beautiful 360 panoramic views of the buzzing city and the expansive coastline.

The perfect finish to a day immersed in the local culture, meet up with a local bagpiper who will give you a stirring demonstration before a fun taster session of the national instrument.  Learn some tunes on the chanter before taking a turn on the pipes themselves and maybe even learn a reel of two of traditional Scottish Dancing.

Day 4 - Friday 27th June - Transfer to Gleneagles via Bannockburn

Today you head to the countryside retreat of Gleneagles, with a stop along the way at the site of the Battle of Bannockburn. Meet an engaging local expert who will really bring this landscape and its history to life. Imagine what it was like standing shoulder to shoulder in the midst of a raging battle with Robert the Bruce before his greatest victory.

Depending on your inclination there are plenty of places to stop with your guides and maybe take a scenic leg stretch or just enjoy the incredible views as you head into the Perthshire countryside.

Arriving at Gleneagles settle in to relax and enjoy your luxurious accommodation. Perhaps you want to start with an exploration of the expansive grounds, or relax with a warming dram in one of the stylish bars (adults only!). The choice is yours.

Day 5 - Saturday 28th June - Highland Gold & Meet Red Deer

Try something completely different this morning and journey into the surrounding countryside to try your hand at gold-panning. Armed with your own traditional pan, you will dip it into the crystal-clear waters, swirling the gravel and sand with eager anticipation.  Set against the stunning backdrop of the Perthshire Highlands you will be guided in your hunt for real & ‘fools’ gold, as well as many beautiful semi precious stones.

Later, you will learn about the local Red Deer in the area as you enjoy the amazing views over Red Deer Park. Learn about these magnificent animals and maybe even weigh yourself against the resident master Stag. Then actually meet these curious creatures and say hello up close.

The scenery here is beautiful, and there are many lovely places to explore for a wander. Or maybe spend some time discovering the local galleries in charming Aberfeldy. After a wonderful day out in the Scottish wilderness, head back to your luxurious hotel to rest and relax for the evening.

Day 6 - Sunday 29th June - Hiking, Clays & A Distillery

This morning you can decide if you want to amp up the thrills, or soak the relaxing countryside setting.

You could head out for a hike with your qualified guides, enjoying the scenery and maybe discovering a local village to amble through. Your guides will be able to discuss the options with you and advise what will suit the day best.

Or test your skills at a world-renowned shooting range for an adrenaline inducing experience.  Guided by expert instructors, you can test your aim and reflexes against fast-flying clay targets, all within the stunning, expansive grounds of this iconic Scottish estate.

Slow the pace this afternoon as you enjoy a tour and tasting at a whisky distillery that dates back to 1488.  Enjoy a sip of this ‘Highland Gold’ and discover the history behind the layers of flavour in your glass. Toast your health with a traditional Scottish ‘Slainte Mhath’ before your guides take you back to Gleneagles. They will then depart, leaving you to enjoy the final day together as a family.

  1. Clay Target Shooting is suitable for age 10 and up
  2. Alcohol is only for adults over the age of 18.
  3. Children under 5 cannot be in the distillery for health & safety reasons, so at least one adult will need to remain with them outside.

Day 7 - Monday 30th June - Traditional Scottish Pursuits at Gleneagles

This morning try out traditional Scottish pursuits, either Falconry, Gundogs or Fishing. Falconry was known as the ‘sport of kings’, and is an amazing spectacle. Watch the incredible birds fly soundlessly overhead and admire their incredible hunting skills while you learn about the basic skills and techniques of falconry. If you are brave enough you may get to say hello up close.

Or guarantee being able to meet the stars of the show with the family gundog experience. The adorable labradors are more than happy to say hello, but will wow you with their skills when put to the test.

If you prefer, then take to the crystal clear waters of a nearby river as you hone your fishing skills.  Led by an expert instructor learn the gentle art of fly fishing, surrounded by the tranquility and beauty of the Perthshire Highlands.  What better way to unwind.

This afternoon is free for you to relax together on the estate, or maybe you will decide to pack in another activity. The choice is up to you!

Note: Falconry & Gundog Experiences are in groups of 5 and are suitable for ages 5 and up. Fly Fishing is suitable for ages 12 and up. Please be aware that Gleneagles do also offer a creche facility for ages 2-8.

Day 8 - Tuesday 1st July - To London

A private transfer will take you to Gleneagles station this morning and you will board the train bound for London.  Sit back in your first class seats and enjoy the complimentary refreshments as the ever changing scenery rolls past your window.

On arrival into London Kings Cross, you will be met by your private transfer drivers and taken to your luxurious hotel in the heart of the city ready to spend the final few nights on UK soil.

Day 9 - Wednesday 2nd July - Wimbledon / Exploring London

For one member of the party a trip to Wimbledon is the order of the day today.  Spend the day indulging in the fantastic hospitatilty package and enjoy some of the action on either Centre or No.1 court as the whack of the rackets against the ball and the cheers from the crowds make for a truly entertaining day.

For the rest of the party, a day exploring London awaits.  Your expert city guide will meet you at your hotel and you’ll head off to explore the city.  From the iconic sites such as the Tower of London or Westminster Abbey to the interactive museums that will be a hit with the kids, your guide will tailor the day to suit you and there will be drivers on hand to take you wherever you need to go.

You’ll end the day seeing London from a different perspective as you enjoy a private pod on the London Eye.  Take to the skies and see the metropolis laid out before you as your guides points out places of interest before returning to the hotel for the night.

Day 10 - Thursday 3rd July - Highclere / Exploring London

A trip to Highclere is the order of the day today for one member of the family as your private driver will take you to this incredible castle where you will meet a local expert guide for a tour of the property and gardens.

For the rest of the family, an early start awaits as you head to the mecca for all children everywhere – Hamleys!  A incredible store over 7 floors stuffed full of toys in all shapes and sizes and the unique experience of being able to have this all to yourselves prior to opening!  Then as the bell strikes, cut the ribbon to open the store to the public – this is an experience that your children will never forget.

Later on, your drivers will take you to meet with an foodie expert for an immersive and interactive experience that draws on the eclectic heritage of London’s food scene.  Let your taste buds tingle as you sample some of the incredible food and find some hidden gems that are only known to the locals.

Sated and satisfied, you’ll all meet up again back at the hotel this evening for one last meal together in the capital city before you depart for home tomorrow.

Day 11 - Friday 4th July - Depart
