Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 14th June - Welcome to Scotland

On arrival at the airport you will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring this unique city.

Day 2 - Saturday 15th June - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. Your guide will leave you here so that you can spend as much time in the castle as you wish. You then have a free afternoon to continue explorations at your own pace, pick up souvenirs or relax as you prefer.

Day 3 - Sunday 16th June - Transfer North via St Andrews

This morning your Private Guide (who will also act as your driver) will meet you at your hotel and together you will head north to explore the Kingdom of Fife on route to the Highlands. Discover the stories of the historic university town of St Andrews, which is known around the world as ‘the birthplace of golf’. Two of your party will play a round of golf on the same coastline as the hallowed ‘Old Course’, while the rest of the party are exploring with your guide. Perhaps taking in the charming and picturesque fishing villages along the Fife Coastal Trail. These harbour houses are now popular with artists and writers but the sea still has a heavy influence on everyday life for most people in the local communities. Then continue onwards to your welcoming accommodation.

Day 4 - Monday 17th June - Morning Private 4x4 Safari & Afternoon Explorations

This morning you head out on a Private fun Landrover safari with a kilted Ranger. Exploring private estate tracks to see what traditional gillies and estate managers drive every day. Keep your eyes open for the local wildlife, Red Deer, Mountain Hares and Eagles that are all to be found here. A truly wonderful experience that gets you into the heart of the highlands.

This afternoon continue your local explorations with your guide, maybe taking a hike in this beautiful landscape. Before finishing the day with some delectable chocolates at a local award-winning specialist.

Day 5 - Tuesday 18th June - Hike The Cairngorms National Park

Today you break your journey in the stunning Cairngorm National Park to explore on foot as you hike to get some of the best views.  There are many different options to choose from and your guide will advise you on the best choices based on the weather and what you want to explore.  With many hidden Lochs and incredible Caledonian pine forests you are sure to enjoy whatever you decide. Continue on to your final destination and choose to relax for the evening or explore the bustling capital of the Highlands, Inverness.

Day 6 - Wednesday 19th June - Explore Speyside, The Heart Of Whisky Country

Today you will travel around Speyside with your guide on a journey through the history of Scottish whisky, discovering just why Speyside whiskys are known around the world (as well as why fishermen love this river valley). Beginning the day with the chance to observe the ancient art of coopering, which is the skilled art of creating the all-important barrels that spirits rest in.

With Whisky on the mind it will then be time to follow in the footsteps on the Whisky Smugglers Trail, through the hidden glens of Speyside. After your hike through the Whisky country it seems only right that you quench your thirst with a tasting of the local produce with a tour and tasting in one of the characterful Speyside distilleries. The perfect way to round off your day’s exploration before your guide returns you to your hotel for the evening.

Day 7 - Thursday 20th June - Transfer West Via Loch Ness

Before heading West today, delve into the history which shaped Scotland at the atmospheric Culloden Battlefield where the Jacobite rebellion came to a bloody end. Explore the ruins of the mighty Urquhart Castle in the shores of Loch Ness, destroyed by the government so that it could no longer be used as a clan stronghold. Then enjoy a thrilling zodiac ride, keeping an eye out for the elusive monster of course. There may also be time for a scenic hike with your guide before carrying onwards to your relaxing loch-side accommodation.

Day 8 - Friday 21st June - The Road to the Isles

Today you explore the Road to the Isles with your guide, this is frequently listed as one of the most beautiful drives in the world and it is easy to see why. Pass the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which you may well recognise from the Harry Potter films. Hear the tales of the Glenfinnan Monument and see if you can spot the Jacobite Steam Train puffing its way along the tracks. Admire the silver sand beaches of Arisaig and admire the views back to Skye and out to the small isles. You may also wish to enjoy a game of golf at the rugged, hidden gem that is Arisaig Golf course.

Day 9 - Saturday 22nd June - Exploring Atmospheric Glencoe & Glasgow

Making your way south to Glasgow on this final day of your trip, you will stop at the dramatic mountains and ridges of Glencoe.  Glencoe has featured as the backdrop in many films and once you are looking up at these summits it is easy to see why! Spend some time exploring this famous valley with your guide and hearing the local tales, there are plenty of options to suit every level of energy and challenge.  Continue on to Glasgow where your guide will drop you at your hotel before departing, leaving you to enjoy a free evening in this vibrant metropolis.

Day 10 - Sunday 23rd June - Depart
