Day 1 - Friday 13^th September - Welcome Wendee and Pete

Wendee and Pete arrive into Edinburgh airport and will be met by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Depending on your arrival time you can choose to relax at the hotel or head out to start exploring.

Day 2 - Saturday 14^th September - Welcome Morgan, David & Robbie

Welcoming the arrival of the rest of the family, who will be met at the airport by a private driver who will transfer you to your city centre hotel. Reuniting with Wendee and Pete to start exploring this unique city.

This evening enjoy dinner and the beautiful Lookout restaurant with stunning city views and delicious locally sourced menu.

Day 3 - Sunday 15^th September - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide.

Discover the highlights of this unique capital city from the Palace of Holyroodhouse all the way up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past with a tour of the castle.

After a delightful afternoon tea onboard the Fingal, you and your city guide will step onboard the Royal Yacht Britannia for an afternoon tour.

This evening embark on a journey into the heart of whisky culture with a visit to the renowned Whisky Society. Step through the doors into a world of aged oak barrels, rich aromas, and expertly crafted spirits. Enjoy a delicious dinner and sample the wide range of whiskies on offer with the help of experts behind the bar.

Day 4 - Monday 16^th September - Journey north to the Cairngorm National Park

After a hearty breakfast, meet your expert private guide who will also be your driver and commence your journey to the Cairngorms National Park. Along the way, stop for a tour of the historic Stirling Castle, delving into its rich tapestry of royal intrigue, military prowess and architecture. Explore the opulent Great Hall, walk along the formidable battlement and admire panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

After lunch, embrace the onward scenic drive, absorbing the breathtaking landscapes en route to Ballater. On arrival into your accommodations you will have time to refresh and perhaps take a leisurely stroll and prepare for your adventures ahead in the Cairngorms.

Day 5 - Tuesday 17^th September - Hike the Balmoral Estate & Lochnagar Distillery

Embark on a beautiful morning hike with your guide, tracing the historical cairns erected by the Royal Family on the Balmoral Estate, offering stunning vistas over Deeside and the iconic Balmoral Castle itself. This month the Royal Family are in residence at the Castle, so you may even bump into them on your walk or drive past Charles in his Landrover as you explore Breamar.

For lunch, indulge in a luxury picnic amidst breathtaking scenery.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon delving into the world of whisky with a Royal Lochnagar Expressions Tour at the distillery, immersing yourself in the rich heritage and exquisite flavours of this amazing Scottish spirit.

Day 6 - Wednesday 18^th September - Explore Braemar

Your day in Braemar begins with an exhilarating hike on the stunning Loch Muick Circuit, one of the area’s most famous trails. As you trek around the serene loch, surrounded by rugged peaks and vibrant heather, your private guide shares fascinating insights into the local wildlife and history of the area. After working up an appetite, you’ll return to Braemar for a delicious lunch at a cozy local café.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit The Highland Game Pavilion, where you’ll walk around the exhibition and learn about the famous Highland Games. The pavilion offers an immersive experience into the history and traditions of these iconic Scottish events, showcasing everything from the origins of the games to the skills and strength of the athletes who participate. Day 7 - Thursday 19^th September - Transfer to Culloden House

Leaving the Ballater this morning, take a journey to Culloden House, a storied estate with ties to Bonnie Prince Charlie, who once sought refuge here in the lead up to the Battle of Culloden.

Along the way you will drive through the heart of whisky country, accompanied by your knowledgeable guide. Stop at the Cragganmore Distillery for a VIP experience to taste their renowned whiskies.

After a spot of lunch, head east to visit in at Johnstons of Elgin, immersing yourself in the essence of Scotland’s textiles, take a tour of the mill followed by an afternoon tea. With plenty time to wander around their beautiful shop before continuing on to Culloden House Hotel to rest for the evening.

Day 8 - Friday 20^th September - Inverness-Shire Explorations

Day 9 - Saturday 21^st September - Loch Ness

This morning, your guide will take you on an exciting journey to explore the legendary Loch Ness, famed for its mysterious depths and the mythical creature said to inhabit its waters. Take a boat cruise along the tranquil surface, soaking in panoramic views of the surrounding Highlands while keeping a keen eye out for any signs of the elusive Nessie.

After some lunch, venture ashore to explore the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle, perched dramatically on the loch’s edge, where centuries of Scottish history await to be discovered amidst breathtaking scenery.

Waving farewell to Scotland for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
