Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 7th February - Welcome to Dublin

Arriving in Ireland today, a private transfer will pick you up from the airport and whisk you into the city to your boutique hotel in the city centre.

Explore Dublin at your own pace and immerse yourself in the city’s unique charm. From historic landmarks like Trinity College and Dublin Castle to the vibrant atmosphere of Temple Bar, there’s something for everyone. Wander through the cobbled streets, visit world-class museums, or relax in one of the city’s many parks.

Whether you’re sipping a pint at a local pub or discovering hidden gems in the heart of the city, Dublin offers the perfect mix of history, culture, and modern-day energy, all waiting to be discovered on your own terms.

Day 2 - Saturday 8th February - Exploring Dublin

This morning, meet a local historian for an engaging walking tour of the lively capital city. Explore some of Dublin’s best-known attractions, while also enjoying the benefit of local knowledge by visiting spots hidden off the tourist trail.

Later this afternoon, enjoy some free time, before dining in the hotel’s restaurant or in one of the many delightful eateries that pepper the streets of this vibrant, capital city.

Day 3 - Sunday 9th February - Waterford Crystal and The Copper Coast

After picking up your rental car in Dublin, drive south through the beautiful Irish countryside toward Waterford. Stop for a tour of the famous Waterford Crystal, where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship behind the world-renowned glass. After the tour, enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea with delicious pastries and fine tea. Continue your drive to the picturesque coastal town of Kinsale, where you can unwind and spend the evening enjoying the local charm and stunning views.

Day 4 - Monday 10th February - Visit Charles Fort and Discover Kinsale

After breakfast, meander through the bright coastal town of Kinsale. Historically a medieval fishing port, its spectacular waterfront setting and candy-coloured houses, shops and restaurants, make it a glorious blend of old and the new. After a mellow morning, walk to the historic Charles Fort – a 17th-century military fortress which stretches across the cliffs and down to the seashore. Learn about the turbulent years of the Williamite War and hear the haunting tale of the White Lady. This afternoon, join a local for a delicious food tour, discovering Kinsale’s culinary delights. Return to your hotel this evening, perhaps sitting in the blooming courtyard garden to enjoy a cocktail before dinner.

Day 5 - Tuesday 11th February - Kinsale to Ballygarry Estate

Start your day in Kinsale with a hearty breakfast before hitting the road, heading west through the scenic beauty of West Cork. Enjoy the rugged coastline, charming villages, and stunning views as you drive toward Killarney National Park. Take your time to explore the park’s lush landscapes, tranquil lakes, and iconic landmarks like Muckross House and Torc Waterfall.

After soaking in the natural beauty, continue on to Tralee, where you’ll arrive at Ballygarry Estate for a relaxing evening, ready to unwind and enjoy the comforts of this elegant hotel.

Day 6 - Wednesday 12th February - Dingle Peninsula

Set out on the breathtaking Slea Head Drive, one of Ireland’s most scenic coastal routes. As you wind your way along the peninsula, you’ll pass dramatic cliffs, lush green hills, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Stop to visit the ancient Gallarus Oratory and enjoy panoramic views of the Blasket Islands, then take a moment to relax at Coumeenole Beach, perfect for a photo or a peaceful walk. Day 7 - Thursday 13th February - Dingle Peninsula to County Clare

Leave Dingle behind and head toward County Clare, making a stop at a local farm along the way to experience Ireland’s rich agricultural history. Experience the Burren at its finest with a fully guided tour of a working beef farm against the backdrop of dramatic landscapes and national monuments. Sample local produce with a rustic picnic and capture the true essence of Ireland’s west. the experience will include a charcuterie table with seasonal local produce, homemade baking and award winning Beef.

Afterward, continue on to Doolin, known as the heart of traditional Irish music. Spend the evening soaking in the lively atmosphere of local pubs, where talented musicians play everything from lively jigs to soulful ballads, giving you a true taste of Ireland’s musical heritage.

Day 8 - Friday 14th February - The Burren National Park and The Cliffs of Moher

This morning, head out to explore the fascinating Burren landscape – fissured plateaus of limestone and shale, vast in their captivating and barren beauty. Wind your way over the stark rocky terrain, past prehistoric tombs and through wildflower grasslands.

Later, visit the striking Cliffs of Moher, absorbing their majesty in a quiet, secluded spot away from the crowds. Home to thousands of seabirds, including razorbills, fulmars and puffins, the cliffs are alive with activity above the crashing waves far below. This evening, return to your hotel for a drink or two by the crackling fire.

Day 9 - Saturday 15th February - Galway City

Galway is the capital of Ireland’s west. Known as the ‘town of the tribes’ the small centre of cobblestone streets and colourful store fronts is vibrant, fun and cosmopolitan. A local military historian will meet you at the city’s main square to guide you through the bustling alleys sharing Galway City’s important roles in the clash of the French, Spanish, Russian and British Empires from 1700 to 1922, including in Ireland’s revolution for independence.

Your accommodation this evening is a fitting finale to your time on the Wild Atlantic Way. Day 10 - Sunday 16th February - Connemara

This morning head to Roundstone Harbour to meet local man Damien, a fourth-generation fisherman who has been around the sea all his life. As you explore Roundstone Bay by boat, look out for the resident seals, dolphins & Basking sharks! You’ll pass by the stunning beaches of Ervallagh, Gurteen & Dog’s Bay as you make your way to the deserted Island of Inishlacken. With its panoramic views, picturesque unspoilt beaches & pristine waters, this deserted island is the perfect place to stop off for a bespoke picnic lunch!

Inishlaken has long been a centre point for writers, poets & artists because of its unique setting. A once largely populated island with its own schoolhouse & lots of quaint cottages, the population dwindled & the last of the island’s residents left for the mainland. But where man has left, nature has flourished and the island is now home to a large variety of insects & birds, rabbits, resident goats, sheep & donkeys.

Settle into town this evening for a bit of local Irish culture and cuisine.
