Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 7th February - Welcome to Dublin

Arriving in Ireland today, a private transfer will pick you up from the airport and whisk you into the city to your boutique hotel in the city centre.

Head out in the afternoon to enjoy a walking tour with a local private guide through this vibrant capital city, with its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern. See the Georgian style Merrion Square, lush St. Stephen’s Green and Fitzwilliam Square, as well as O’Connell Street, the site of the ‘1916 Uprising’ that led to Ireland’s independence in 1922. Your guide is also a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by.

Day 2 - Saturday 8th February - Private Tour of the Guinness Storehouse

Indulge your senses in the world of Guinness with our exclusive private experience at the Guinness Storehouse. For the discerning connoisseur, this tour delves deep into the history and origins of the iconic stout. From the moment you step inside this historic establishment, you’ll be immersed in the rich heritage of Guinness, tracing its roots back to its founding by Arthur Guinness in 1759. Self-guide yourself through the intricate brewing process, sharing the secrets and traditions that have been passed down through generations. Finish the tour by tasting a variety of Guinness brews and savouring their unique flavours.

Day 3 - Sunday 9th February - Dublin to Kenmare

After collecting your rental car in Dublin, you’ll set off on your journey southwest towards Kenmare. As you leave the city, the scenic drive takes you through the heart of Ireland’s countryside, with plenty of opportunities to stop and explore along the way.

A must-see is the Rock of Cashel, where you can take in the breathtaking views and explore the impressive medieval ruins, including a cathedral, round tower, and Cormac’s Chapel. Once you’ve soaked in the history and landscape at Cashel, you’ll continue your drive through charming towns and rolling hills, eventually arriving in Kenmare, a picturesque town known for its colorful streets and laid-back atmosphere.

With its welcoming ambiance and the soothing sound of Sheen Falls nearby, Sheen Falls Lodge is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploration.

Day 4 - Monday 10th February - The Wilds of West Cork

Today, you’ll embark on a scenic journey to the Beara Peninsula, one of Ireland’s most picturesque and unspoiled regions. With its dramatic cliffs, remote coves, and colorful villages, the peninsula is a haven of natural beauty and peaceful seclusion.

After exploring the area, you’ll visit a local buffalo farm, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the farm’s sustainable practices and interact with the majestic buffalo herds. The visit includes a special farm-to-table lunch, featuring delicious buffalo cheeses and meats, prepared using locally sourced ingredients.

After a day of exploration and delicious food, you’ll return to your accommodation at Sheen Falls Lodge, where you can relax and unwind, soaking in the serene surroundings and reflecting on the day’s experiences.

Day 5 - Tuesday 11th February - Kenmare to Dromoland Castle

After leaving Kenmare, you’ll drive through the picturesque village of Adare, with its charming thatched cottages and tree-lined streets, before continuing on to the breathtaking Dromoland Castle. Set amidst lush Irish countryside, this 5-star castle offers a perfect blend of history, luxury, and natural beauty.

In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the ancient art of falconry, working with expert falconers and majestic birds of prey. Afterward, you can explore the castle’s expansive grounds, taking in the serene atmosphere, manicured gardens, and tranquil lakeside views, all contributing to an unforgettable day at this stunning estate.

Day 6 - Wednesday 12th February - The Cliffs of Moher

This morning, head out to explore the striking Cliffs of Moher, absorbing their majesty in a quiet, secluded spot away from the crowds. Home to thousands of seabirds, including razorbills, fulmars and puffins, the cliffs are alive with activity above the crashing waves far below.

Next, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Smokehouse, where Birgitta will show you how Irish Organic and Wild Salmon is smoked in a bespoke kiln and smoke box. Peter will also share the intriguing story of how he captured wild yeast from the Burren to create his ‘Euphoria’ gruit beer. Afterward, savor a Burren Smoked Irish Organic Salmon tasting platter, paired with four distinctive Burren Brewery craft beers, each offering a unique taste of the region.

This evening, return to your luxury hotel retreat for a drink or two by the crackling fire.

Once you arrive in Dublin, you’ll drop off your rental car, concluding your unforgettable road trip through Ireland’s beautiful landscapes and historic estates, with memories that will surely last a lifetime.
