Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 7th February - Welcome To Scotland!

Arrive Glasgow early this afternoon, and you will be met by your private guide (who will also act as your driver for your time together). The adventures start right away as you head north to the Highlands. Passing through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and following part of the route of the classic long distance hiking trail, the West Highland Way, on the way to your unique accommodation.

Day 2 - Saturday 8th February - Exploring Atmospheric Glencoe

The dramatic mountains and ridges of Glencoe have featured as the backdrop in many films and once you are looking up at these summits it is easy to see why! Today you will explore this famous valley with your guide, there are plenty of options to suit every level of energy and challenge. Your guide will discuss the best options for the day to suit your preferences, energy levels, and the weather. After your hike settle down with a celebratory beverage in a traditional climbers pub before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3 - Sunday 9th February - West Coast Island Hiking & Drams

Today you head to the colourful harbour town of Oban where you catch a small ferry for a short trip to Kerrera Island. Enjoy an island hike with great views of the Inner Hebrides , visit the ancient ruins of Glyen Castle and maybe enjoy a sweet treat in the island tea room. Once back on the mainland finish your day with a wee informal dram in bar at the Oban distillery, which prides itself on being older than the town itself! Your guide will then take you back to your unique hotel in Glencoe.

Day 4 - Monday 10th February - Transfer East to The Cairngorms National Park

Today you transfer East, deep into the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Your route takes you over the ‘snow roads’ to the north of the main mountain range. Your day starts driving past the base of the mighty Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the UK. There are many options for scenic hikes on route, and your guide will discuss the best options to suit the day. Your destination is the Fife Arms Hotel, a fabulously unique and opulent experience created by acclaimed Hauser & Wirth. Here you will find many remarkable conversation pieces and an experience not to be forgotten.

Day 5 - Tuesday 11th February - Royal Hiking & Explorations

You have the full day to explore this beautiful area with your guide today. The Balmoral Estate has been the Highland residence of the Royal Family since it was bought for Queen Victoria in 1852. Hear tales of the Royal connections as you visit Balmoral castle & hike through the forest to visit a unique pyramid with superb views. Finish the day with a toast to your explorations in true Scottish manner with a tour and tasting of the local royally approved distillery, which was issued a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1848. ‘Slainte Mhath!’, or good health, to you.

Day 6 - Wednesday 12th February - Transfer To Edinburgh

Today you head south to the unique capital city of Edinburgh. You could choose to enjoy one last short hike in the Cairngorms before you depart, or perhaps divert to make a quick visit to St Andrews on the way. The choice is yours and your guide will ensure that you make the last of your last day with them. Your guide will depart once you are settled into your elegant city centre hotel in Edinburgh, leaving you to enjoy your time in the city at your own pace.

Day 7 - Thursday 13th February - Exploring Edinburgh

This morning immerse yourselves in the winding cobbled streets of historic Old Town Edinburgh as you enjoy a private walking tour with an expert local guide. Discover the highlights of this unique capital as you wander up the ‘Royal Mile’ to the mighty ancient fortress which is Edinburgh Castle itself. Walk the ramparts atop castle rock and hear the tales of the One O’Clock gun and the stories of locals of times past. 

Today is flexible and your private city guide will personalise your explorations to your interest. Perhaps continue your royal theme with a visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, or maybe discover a different area of the city (as they all have their own personalities, like small villages).

Day 8 - Friday 14th February - Depart

A private transfer will collect you from your accommodation and take you to the airport to make your onward connections. Waving farewell for now but taking with you special memories and wonderful stories of your explorations.
