Day by Day

Day 1 - Friday 7th February - Céad míle fáilte - One Hundred Thousand Welcomes

Arriving in Dublin this morning, a private transfer will meet you at arrivals and take you to your centrally located hotel. As this is your arrival day, we have left this afternoon free for you to rest after your flight, or you can head out and explore. Dublin has been described as the ‘city with a village feel’ and as you explore its cobbled streets and historical monuments it will be easy to see why. The city is best explored on foot or using public transport such as the LUAS, our light rail system. Many of Dublin’s highlights are within walking distance and indeed you will discover it is in the act of wandering from one to another where you will soak up Dublin’s authentic atmosphere.

Day 2 - Saturday 8th February - Historical Dublin

There is no better introduction to Dublin than a walking tour with a local private guide through this vibrant capital city, with its mix of 1,000 years of architecture from the mediaeval to Georgian to modern. See the Georgian-style Merrion Square, lush St. Stephen’s Green and Fitzwilliam Square, as well as the GPO on O’Connell Street, the site of the ‘1916 Uprising’ that led to Ireland’s independence in 1922. Your guide is also a historian who will bring the city to life with colourful tales of life in the city in times gone by. Enjoy a local pub lunch and spend the rest of your afternoon taking in some of Dublin’s sights.

Day 3 - Sunday 9th February - The Ghosts of Kinsale

This morning, your private guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and after some short introductions you will begin your journey south. The first stop on your adventure is the historical fishing town of Kinsale. Famous as the gourmet capital of Ireland, this colourful town is brimming with activity from art galleries to elegant yachts. Your accommodation is in a central location overlooking the sea. This evening, we’ll have a unique introduction to the town via a ghost tour led by local actors. You’ll learn about Kinsale’s vibrant history while meeting the colourful characters of Kinsale’s past as they come alive during an entertaining evening stroll through Kinsale.

Day 4 - Monday 10th February - Foodie & Fort Tours

Historically a medieval fishing port, Kinsales spectacular waterfront setting and candy-coloured houses, shops and restaurants, make it a glorious blend of old and the new. This afternoon you’ll embark on a delightful culinary journey where every bite tells a story of tradition, innovation, and local flavour. As your local guide regales you with stories of the town, enjoy fresh seafood, artisan cheeses, and vibrant produce sourced from nearby farms. Later today, your guide will take you to Charles Fort, one of the best-preserved examples of a 17th-century star-shaped fort associated with some of the most momentous events in Irish history. There are plenty of lookouts to climb to and tunnels to explore.

Day 5 - Tuesday 11th February - Local Characters & Local Cheeses

This morning, your guide will take you to the final stop on your Irish adventure, the Kingdom of Kerry! En route, your journey takes you across rolling farmlands with stunning pastoral scenes. Stop at a working Buffalo dairy farm for an immersive tour and tasting and get up close and personal with a herd of Irish Buffalo! Meet the herd, chat about all things agriculture with John, and finish with a spectacular tasting session of some fine Irish cheese, made right there on the farm. Your next accommodation is located right on the famed lakes of Killarney, right outside of town.

Day 6 - Wednesday 12th February - The Lakes of Killarney

After breakfast, you’ll make your way to Killarney National Park, the jewel in Kerry’s crown. Here you will board a boat with Dux and his canine friend and cruise the tranquil lakes of Killarney with one of the most spectacular backdrops imaginable as you are overlooked by Ireland’s highest mountain peaks. Afterwards, your guide will lead you on a hike of your choice, today the park encompasses 26,000 acres of mountains, woodlands, and waterfalls, so there is plenty to choose from. Enjoy Kerry’s most breathtaking scenery on your doorstep.

Day 7 - Thursday 13th February - The Ring of Kerry

Today you will travel to the southern shores of the Iveragh peninsula, also known as The Ring of Kerry, where you will meet one of our favourite characters. A fisherman, foraging expert, storyteller and a true Irish gent, John, will take you on a wander along the shoreline learning about life on Ireland’s west coast all the while regaling you with tales of characters from the region, from lonely monks to 18th century civil rights activists to mythical heroes. Take some time today to tour The Ring of Kerry stopping at picturesque bays and harbours and points of interest along the way before returning to your hotel in Killarney this evening.
