Arriving at Cork Airport this afternoon, you’ll meet your private guide and after some short introductions, it’s time to begin your Irish adventure! You’ll head straight for the wilds of West Cork – a remote haven where crafters, artists and artisan food producers have happily retreated over the years. Get settled and tonight you will enjoy a delicious meal at your accommodation.

Off the coast of Baltimore is Ireland’s southernmost inhabited island, traditionally the last glimpse of Europe for those who once sailed to North America by ship. Cape Clear is a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) island just 5 km long and 2 km wide. Hopping off the ferry, you’ll hike across the island, explore its ancient sites, spot the rich birdlife and visit a local goat farm. On most days, the iconic silhouette of the dramatic Fastnet Rock Lighthouse can be seen to the northwest of the island. As you take in the stunning, coastal vistas that surround you, you’ll realise that this is authentic and untouched Ireland. Wrap up your day by enjoying a refreshing drink overlooking the harbour to the soundtrack of waves crashing and seagulls calling.

Saying farewell to Cork today, you’ll head further north into Kerry, but not before stopping for a fully immersive experience in the sights, sounds, smells & taste of a rare temperate rainforest valley & bay on the Wild Atlantic Way. Too often overlooked by visitors, the Beara Peninsula is a hidden paradise. At each turn, there is a new view to marvel upon, with panoramas over the hidden valleys, rocky slopes, sheep-dotted hills and far-away lakes. Make sure to leave room after breakfast this morning, as your experience of the day involves meeting local foraging expert Kloe to share in her craft on the remote southern edge of the Beara Peninsula. After an hour out in the field learning the science and practices of foraging in the woods, reconvene around a campfire together for a cooked lunch of your gathered goods. Afterwards, you’ll head north and check in to your accommodation, nestled on a private estate on the edge of Killarney National Park.

Killarney National Park is the most famous of Ireland’s national parks – and with good reason, as it is flourishing with breathtaking mountains, lakes and waterfalls. Historic manor houses and abbeys make for an interesting visit but Killarney is best explored via a private boat trip across the lake with a boatman whose furry friends join him daily. Before leaving you your guide will lead you on a walk showcasing some of the stunning beauty of the park and the views it offers. Ask your guide for some pub recommendations and where you can catch a trad session this evening.

This is a great opportunity to wander the cobbled streets and visit local galleries as well as enjoy the fresh produce Ireland is so well-known for. On your final night as a trio, your guide will take you to one of our favourite restaurants in the city.

As Georgina spends some time today exploring the cobbled streets of Galway one last time, Peter and Lesley will head out for one last day of exploration as you will take to the water and ferry to The Aran Islands. The history of these islands goes back millennia and today Irish is still the daily spoken language of the inhabitants. Inis Mór, the largest of the three islands, is your destination today. The first port of call is a goat farm, here Gabriel, fisherman-come-goat farmer and island native will introduce you to his flock of extraordinarily cute goats. You’ll taste his award-winning cheese, but more importantly, you will leave with his wealth of knowledge on the island’s history, language and culture. We will make sure you enjoy a hike full of island scenery and you won’t miss the incredible prehistoric cliff-top fortress at Dun Aenghus as well as some hidden spots along the island’s shore. Back on the mainland, we have arranged a private transfer to take Georgina to Dublin Airport in time for her flight home.
