Day by Day

Day 1 - Arrive in London & Travel to Cornwall

After landing at Heathrow, relax on a scenic rail journey into the sea-soaked county of Cornwall. As you travel, enjoy watching the pastoral landscape grow increasingly rugged beyond the window, and after crossing the Tamar River, look out for your first glimpse of the glittering Atlantic Ocean. Upon arrival into Truro, meet your private driver, who will take you to a wonderfully situated hotel in the pretty village of St Mawes. Commanding beautiful views across the water, spend the evening relaxing as you look out over the harbour and the gently lapping waves below.

Day 2 - Exploring St Michaels Mount

After a leisurely breakfast, meet your expert local guide and set out to explore St. Michael’s Mount. A tidal island crowned by a medieval castle, it’s still home to a robust, close-knit community that actively looks after the Mount and ensures island life runs smoothly. Crossing the causeway at low tide, enjoy the panoramic views of the coastline before wandering along the ancient cobblestone paths to explore lush gardens and historic buildings. Chat with your guide about the island’s history, hearing stories of deception and disguise, medieval knights and noble families. Later this afternoon, return to the mainland and enjoy some free time to relax.

Day 3 - St Ives & Padstow

Head out this morning to enjoy a day in the picturesque town of St Ives. Popular with artists, this seaside town is a delightful jumble of cobbled streets, historic buildings and independent shops. Wander through the narrow lanes, enjoying the lovely views of the azure sea and charming white-washed cottages. Learn more about the town’s artistic heritage by visiting art galleries such as the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum. After a delicious lunch of fresh seafood, relax on one of the pristine sandy beaches before travelling a short distance to Padstow to settle into your lovely harbourside hotel.

Day 4 - Exploring Padstow & Rick Stein Cooking Class

This morning, enjoy some free time to explore Padstow. Wander along the quay, soaking up the bustling atmosphere and browsing the colourful shops and galleries that line the pretty waterfront. With many hidden gems and foodie hotspots to discover, take your time on your stroll, stopping to sample some of the best cuisine this lovely seaside town has to offer. This evening, enjoy a Rick Stein cooking class. Under expert guidance, create exquisite dishes and learn some of the secrets behind Rick Stein’s renowned recipes.

Day 5 - Tintagel Castle and Transfer to Cardiff

This morning, join your guide to explore Tintagel Castle, which is perched dramatically atop rugged cliffs overlooking the wild Cornish coastline. Where past meets present, and fact meets folklore, enjoy walking through the ruins of this medieval fortress and hearing tales of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table. Afterwards, continue your adventure by travelling north into Wales, stopping along the way for lunch and a short walk in Dartmoor National Park. Arrive in Cardiff this afternoon and explore Cardiff Castle and the Victorian Gardens. This evening, settle into your city centre hotel and relax.

Day 6 - Hiking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

After breakfast, set out with your guide to hike a stunning section of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Ribbon your way along the magnificent coastline, discovering hidden bays, golden beaches and towering, rugged cliffs. Along the way, as gulls take to the wing against a sea-blown sky, enjoy chatting with your guide about the local flora and fauna of the region, spotting seals, seabirds, and wildflowers. After a lovely day spent in the fresh air, relax in a meticulously restored castle and enjoy a delicious dinner overlooking the beautiful landscape.

Day 7 - St David’s Bishop’s Palace

Today, explore the smallest city in Britain, St Davids. Visit St David’s Bishop’s Palace, a magnificent medieval palace that now stands in impressive ruins. Afterwards, stroll across the way to admire the cathedral, which is one of the most important ecclesiastical sites in Wales. Later this afternoon, return to your hotel and enjoy a drink surrounded by panoramic views.

Day 8 - Exploring Abergavenney
